This 9ft x 6ft piece explores intersectionality within the Chinese Diaspora communities in Canada and the United States. Specifically I looked to examine the relationshup that Diaspora communities have with queerness and gender norms, treating some traits like masculinity as culturally inherent and others like homosexuality as foreign. How do children in the Diaspora reconcile their intersectional experiences? What is truly inherent to a culture and what changes from displacement and relocation?
