This project explores the extents in which we can push materiality, technological practices, and traditional art making. This theatre measuring 2ft x 1ft x 2ft, was made entirely from scratch. All materials used—besides the electrical wiring—were made through traditional papermaking and paper dying techniques. The dyes and materials utilised were used from a mix of synthetic and foraged substances. The paper was then carefully digitally planned and then lasercut and etched upon. After piecing together the project, lights were then wired in to further explore combining traditional and contemporary fine arts practices.
